Born in Madrid, 1960. Architect degree at Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid (ETSAM), with Honours in both Building and Design in 1984.
Prize of Rome in Architecture at the Academia de Bellas Artes de España in Rome and Fulbright/ M.E.C Fellowship. He was Visiting Scholar at Columbia University, New York, where obtained a Master in Architecture and Building Design.

Ph.D. in Architecture and since 2009 Full Professor of Building Design at the ETSAM. He has been Visiting Professor and lecturer at the schools of Architecture of the Politecnico of Milano, Architectural Association of London, Darmstadt Institute of Technology, Paris-Belleville, Universitá Di Roma "La Sapienza", Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T.), Columbia University, University of Palermo in Buenos Aires, Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro.

Ayuntamiento de Madird Architecture ans Urbanism Prize, A.P.D. Design Prize, HYSPALIT Prize of Brick Architecture and Special Mention in the European Architecture Award Luigi Cosenza 2000.
In June 2000 he represents Spain at the Biennale di Architettura di Venezia.

 

During the academic year 2001- 02 he has been Visiting Scholar at the Graduated School of Architecture of Columbia University. He has also been Curator of the exhibitions JAE, "Young Spanish Architects" (2008), actually around the world, and DOMUSae (2010)

As an Architect he has designed and built a residential building, an elderly facilities centre and a villa, all of them located in Salamanca, Spain. In Madrid he has built the Contemporary Architecture Documentation Centre. In 2004 he has been awarded in the Royal Institute of British Architects with the ar+d award and selected for the Spanish Architecture Biennale in 2005. He has designed a few exhibitions with wich he has obtained several awards. In 2008 his House of the Horizon Project is nominated to the Klippan Award. Also in 2008 Aparicio's professional trajectory is nominated to the Swiss Architectural Award. Actually he is designin another two houses, in Castilla ans Andalusia.

His double facet of theoretical investigations and built projects has been published national and internationally, not only in his theory but also in his buildings. Editor of the Essays on Architecture and Ceramics collection and Ceramic Chairman in Madrid, he is the director of the Congress "Crisis in Architecture?" that took place in Brussels in 2010. Among his published books are: "El Muro", "El Hogar del Jubilado", "Terragni, la densidad del espacio", "El Danteum", "Construir con la razón y los sentidos" and "Jesús Aparicio AA40".
